Honour is a force stronger then steel in Rokugan. To a samurai, honour is the driving force behind their lives. Honour is the measure of a warrior, the central pillar of the tennants of bushido. For the samurai of Rokugan, every act is judged and weighed against centuries of tradition. Honour is how a samurai measures his own worth, how he percieves himself and his actions. Duty to one’s lord, to the Emperor above all is the highest mark of honour. This is why many samurai have knelt to Kisada I instead of taking up arms.
