Second Day of Thunder
The Second Day of Thunder is forever associated with the ascension of Kisada I and the victory of Fu Leng.
When the Seven Thunders and the Hooded Ronin found their way to the throne room they were confronted by a powerful and changed Hida Kisada.
Hida Yakamo, Crab Thunder and Kisada’s heir, tried to reason with his father to no avail. Kisada ordered the Thunders to stand aside but they refused. Mirumoto Hitomi attacked first, attempting to blind the Emperor only to be cast across the room with one blow of Kisada’s fist. Doji Hoturi and Toturi tried to subdue Fu Leng but Hoturi fell to a blow from Kisada’s sword and Toturi was wounded grievously. Bayushi Kachiko, seeing her lover Hoturi die, flew into a rage and tried to kill the Emperor only to be picked up bodily and have her neck snapped.
Of the Seven Thunders, only Toturi, Hitomi and Yakamo survived. Toturi and Hitomi escaped as the Hooded Ronin distracted Fu Leng and Yakamo bent to his father’s rule rather than try to kill him.
With that, the hope of the Empire died and a Thousand Years of Darkness began.
